Delete your account

You can delete your MacMermaid account at any time, from the iPhone app.

In the app

  1. Open MacMermaid on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Account, tap your profile, then tap Delete Account.
  3. Confirm. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm with Sign in with Apple once more.

When the deletion is complete, the app signs you out. If it can't be completed, the app says so and your account stays as it was, so you can try again or contact us.

What is deleted

  • Your MacMermaid account and its sign-in methods (email, Apple or Google).
  • The iPhones and Macs registered to your account, their keys for connecting from away from home, and the links between them.
  • Your Macs' access to MacMermaid's AI service, and your usage records. Any usage record written in the final moments is removed automatically within 35 days.
  • If you signed in with Apple, MacMermaid's access to your Apple ID is revoked, so MacMermaid no longer appears under Sign in with Apple in your Apple ID settings.

What happens on your devices

  • Your iPhone is signed out and its away-from-home keys for your account are removed.
  • Your Macs immediately lose access to the AI service, lose away-from-home access within about 10 minutes, and MacMermaid for Mac signs out within about an hour.
  • The task log on your Mac stays on your Mac until it expires after 7 days, or until you remove MacMermaid for Mac.
  • Pairings stored on your iPhone and Macs for use on your local network are not removed automatically. Unpair or remove the apps if you no longer want them.

What is not deleted by us

  • Information that AI and voice providers process under their own terms (see the Privacy Policy).
  • Technical logs kept by our hosting providers for a limited period.
  • If you signed in with Google, Google may still list the sign-in under your Google Account's third-party connections. You can remove it at myaccount.google.com/connections.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app, email macmermaid@addmermaid.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that the request comes from the account owner, delete the account, and confirm when it is done, within 30 days.
